MetaTrader 5 provides two systems of order execution – Hedge and Netting.
The Hedge system allows any number of orders for one instrument. You can trade the same instrument in multiple directions (i.e. locking).
The Netting system allows only one order for each instrument. It sums up all orders opened for the same instrument. You can’t lock a position. The functionality of this system is close to the operation on the open market.
Make a notice that trading robot advisors, designed for MetaTrader 4, do not work on the MetaTrader 5 platform!
